About Alex Linkow

Currently, I am the Manager of Impact Investment at Conservation Law Foundation. In this role, I'm working with the CLF team and our partners to grow thriving New England communities by developing market-based solutions to social and environmental challenges.Prior to joining CLF, I managed Fair Food Network's Fair Food Fund, which provides financing and business assistance to good food enterprises growing community health and wealth in the Northeastern US. Since 2012, the Fair Food Fund has provided over $3.6 million of financing and business assistance to more than 80 good food enterprises across 9 states. With support from the Fair Food Fund, these enterprises have supported more than farms, created over 150 jobs, and purchased nearly $25 million of local food.From 2008 to 2011, as a graduate student in the University of Michigan's Erb Institute MBA/MS program, I focused on sustainable food systems, social entrepreneurship, and marketing strategy. During my time in graduate school, I spent my summers working for Fair Food Network in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I spent the summer of 2010 working on a feasibility study to assess the potential for a local food aggregation hub in Southeast Michigan and on launching a program designed to incentivize food stamp recipients to purchase Michigan-grown produce. During the summer of 2009, I worked with the President and CEO of Fair Food Network to conduct research for his recently published book, Fair Food: Growing a Healthy, Sustainable Food System for All. Prior to joining the Erb program, I spent four years managing marketing communications at Clivus Multrum, a leading manufacturer of composting toilet systems. At Clivus Multrum, I created marketing strategies, developed and administered the customer database, published articles and newsletters, and managed the development of marketing collateral.
