About Alex MacKinnon

Over my 5 years of working experience I have acquired valuable skills related to lab procedures, research, exploration/mining, forestry engineering, GIS and business relations. I have played a role in arctic and sub-arctic field and drilling exploration programs, open pit mining operations/planning and geochronology lab work. An extensive portion of my work in mining has involved GIS modelling and mapping to assist with mine development and planning. I am looking to expand on my past experiences and develop my skill portfolio in working towards obtaining my P.Geo. My recent career change into remote sensing has proved to be very valuable in today's business world and am looking forward to a long future in this line of work. In the next 1-2 years my goals are to receive my P.Geo and gain enough experience to manage projects in the fields earth sciences and remote sensing. I am a hard-working, motivated problem solver who communicates and functions well in team environment but am also comfortable and confident working through projects on my own. I am passionate about the career path I have chosen and am looking forward to future endeavors that will allow for growth as a G.I.T.
