About Alex Pithie

Graduuated from ARA Institute of Canterbury,(formerly CPIT) with a Bachelors degree in Information Communication Technology, Specialising in Information Systems. As part of this degree i studied various programming and database languages, such as c#, javascript, PHP and SQL as well as networking, Quality assurance and the management of IT. I have a keen interest in technology and enjoy keeping up to date with IT development methods. As part of my degree i undertook a six month internship at the Christchurch District Health Board. During this time i conducted an investigation into the current and future use of fax machines throughout the CDHB. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the viability of fax machines at the CDHB and providing a list of recommendations regarding their future use. This investigation involved collecting and processing large amounts of raw data and translating this into meaningful information as well as planning and conducting interviews with key staff members from a number of roles and departments throughout the hospital. The outcome of the investigation had a potential cost saving of per annum.
