About Alex Plotkin

I’ve built my career helping businesses grow, whether by launching and running my own companies or by advising others on how to succeed. As a Senior Advisor with the SBDC, I work one-on-one with entrepreneurs to provide guidance that’s grounded in real experience. Before joining the SBDC, I started and sold several businesses, managed franchise operations, and spent time in investment banking and corporate finance. I’ve helped clients raise capital, improve profitability, and navigate everything from day-to-day decisions to long-term strategy. I understand how each part of a business connects, from finances and marketing to staffing and operations. What I enjoy most is helping business owners get clear on their goals and figure out the most effective way to reach them. Whether it's securing a loan, launching a new venture, or working through a challenge, I aim to make the process more manageable and more focused. I don't just offer advice. I work alongside my clients to help them take action and move forward with confidence. Over the years, I’ve learned that with the right support, small businesses can accomplish big things.
