About Alex Prew

Since graduating from university in 2014, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 6 years. During this time I covered several different areas including QC, R&D and Quality Assurance. I worked mainly with HPLC and GC instrumentation, both for routine testing (QC/stability) and analytical development (method development/validation, troubleshooting, tech transfer). I have also worked on numerous QMS actions including CAPAs, deviations, OOT/OOS investigations and change controls in order to ensure cGMP compliance and drive continuous improvement. I've worked with global leaders and smaller, client-focused CDMOs and so understand the needs of businesses at different levels. In 2020, I decided on a career change and moved into scientific recruitment. I have been able to leverage my industry background to allow me to quickly understand clients' requirements and to effectively screen and interview candidates from a position of technical knowledge and experience. This allows me to deliver a more targeted service to both clients and candidates, and thus the hiring process runs a lot smoother and more efficiently.
