About Alex Ryan

I'm a senior UX design leader with over 25 years’ experience creating cross-platform digital products, from early interactive TV to today’s cloud-based, multi-screen services. While much of my background is in streaming and connected TV, my focus has always on been leading the design of intuitive experiences that balance business goals with end user needs, no matter the industry or platform. At Easel TV, where I’ve played a pivotal leadership role for over a decade, I shaped our full SaaS video streaming platform from the ground up, conceptualising and leading the end-to-end UX design, working with stakeholders and the dev team to build a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective product that was met with an overwhelmingly positive response and an increase in client uptake. I am enthusiastic for the evolution of technology, and over the past couple of years I’ve championed the use of AI, both within the design process and also within our product, enhancing features and saving clients time and money. More recently, I’ve been exploring the potential of Model Context Protocols (MCPs), a new standard pioneered by Anthropic which allows AI models to interact with real-world tools in a standardised and stable way, unleashing countless possibilities for innovative product features and design implementation. Beyond the video streaming space, my experience translates directly to any product-led environment. I’ve worked in agile teams across web, mobile, and OTT, collaborating closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to bring user-centred ideas to life. I thrive on turning complex requirements into solid, intuitive experiences, no matter the industry.
