Background
About Alex Samoray
Alex Samoray comes to landscape architecture inspired by experiences in community development and public service as an Americorps VISTA member. Her continued commitment to community agency throughout the design process forms the foundation for her capstone project examining the role of space in the healing process for victims of gun violence and in centering collective memory. Alex’s design research focuses on advocacy and working toward dismantling the systems that create cycles of violence. She holds a BA in Architecture and will earn her MLA degree from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry May 2022 and is the department's Graduate 2022 LAF Olmsted Scholar.
