About Alex Schreck

My lifelong interest has been bridging gaps — whether those gaps are cultural, linguistic, equity- or accessibility-related — with strong passions for disability advocacy and intercultural communication. My dream position would actively encourage me to utilize my unique blend of skillsets and experiences to approach navigating barriers through creative and collaborative problem solving. I hope to work on projects that address equity such as furthering accessibility and access for disabled and/or aging populations, fostering international connection and cooperation, and providing new tools to empower marginalized communities facing inequity. Along with a degree in Intercultural Communications and minors in Japanese language and East Asian Studies, my professional and life experiences include: teaching English for 3 years in rural Japan, interning at The Smithsonian Institute's Asian Pacific American Center, producing and facilitating workshops relating to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and a wide variety of leadership opportunities, complex event planning, and highly-detailed database management roles."Phenomenal job presenting - Alex was super engaging and did a good job with the material, as well as addressing questions.
