About Alex Sher

I’m a South Florida native who started my healthcare journey as a Home Health Aide who later became a registered nurse. Through my RN experiences I developed a passion for learning and serving. I continued my studies at UCF and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Almost a decade into my nursing career I decided to become a physician. I was thankfully accepted to medical school in Tennessee. I am completing my clerkships in Florida at Advent Ocala. I would describe myself as an advocate for primary care and the underserved in healthcare. While a medical student, I became a National Health Service Corp scholar, columnist for The DO, Editorial Advisory Board Member of The DO, and Annals of Family Medicine.
