Marine Acoustician - Physical Oceanography - Geospatial Analysis - Machine Learning and Computer Vision I am an Oceanographer with over a decade of experience studying Arctic and Pacific waters. Over the last several years I have designed and deployed several projects studying marine fish and physical oceanographic phenomena. Recent major projects have included-Automated classification of herring, juvenile salmon, and entrained air bubbles in multi-frequency acoustic echograms using a U-Net -Anomaly detection of marine spectrograms with Auto Encoders -Developing data products for ocean currents from ADCP data -Developing automated QAQC methods for oceanographic data -Characterization of the zooplankton assemblage in the Arctic using autonomous echosounders Through my career, I have gained experience in arctic ice studies, acoustic analysis for species distributions, and statistical analysis. I am an effective user of Python and Matlab, with competency in C. During my recently completed M.Sc. I learned shell scripting and how to send jobs to high performance computing clusters (Compute Canada).
