Alex is the Director, Enterprise Real Estate, Strategy at CIBC and part of a team responsible to develop multi-year real estate plans for CIBC’s corporate offices. Focus is on the GTA market with a view to managing key corporate real estate assets, managing investment decisions while adding value and providing unique insights.As Director, Enterprise Real Estate Strategy, I play an important role in shaping strategic direction of CIBC's office footprint by identifying, developing and implementing strategies to achieve business priorities.Deliver strategic plans – Work in close partnership with multiplestakeholders, develops analysis on existing workplaces, builds understanding ofbusiness processes & priorities.focus on multi-year real estate initiatives that are aligned with corporate objectives: CRE experience - analyze information from multiple sources to assesscurrent environment and opportunities. Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximize value and deliver positive outcomes across a broad range of teams at CIBC.Previously, Alex was a Leasing Manager in Choice Properties REIT’s Industrial and Office segments with a focus on the GTA, Calgary and Atlantic markets. Prior to Leasing, my role was Senior Manager, Valuations within Choice’s Transactions group, with a specific focus in preparing the REIT’s internal IFRS fair values. For almost 8 years, provided valuation advice for Choice in a variety of contexts including IFRS fair values, appraisal review for financing/ IFRS valuations, acquisition / disposition support, market research and scenario analysis. Responsible for the valuation of approximately $16 billion worth of retail, office, industrial and residential assets across Canada. Prior to joining Choice/CREIT, a senior associate in PwC's National Valuations practice with a focus on commercial real estate. previously worked in the research group at CBRE Limited where the focus was on research and analysis for the GTA real estate market. Specialties: • Determine market value for various types of investment properties / portfolio.• Analysis of leasing, sales, and investment transactions (capitalization rate justification / surveys and market rent estimations)- asset management expertise with perspective on real estate valuations given background in REIT'sAchieved his AACI designation in May of 2018.
