About Alex Wallace

What started as the teenager who knew Facebook so they could run our cafe Facebook page has now turned into a full-blown communications and digital organiser who strives to create and foster communities while working in not-for-profit, cause-driven advocacy groups.I'm Alex Wallace (they/them), and while my journey started out simple, it has taken off in recent years into the digital campaigning, media, and communications space. My goal is to use the skills I've gained from marketing, public relations, and advertising to create and foster communities and help leave the world a better and more inclusive place than I found it.My lived experience and work with the queer community has shown me where our minority communities and disadvantaged people are struggling. My efforts in the union movement have empowered workers on the ground to build their campaigns and bring their truth to those in power, creating lasting change for them, and the communities they work for. By amplifying those with the knowledge and solutions to create meaningful change, I help make the world a better place.I have a range of skills in the media and communications area, including digital campaigning, traditional media, political analysis, agency briefs, speech writing, event planning, CMS, and CRM but more importantly, I know how to work in a team, listen and manage the various capacities and capabilities of the people in a team, working alongside both paid and volunteer staff and working towards objectives and briefs, while also developing my briefs towards reaching specific goals.
