About Alex Waltrip

I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree. I also have also attended international specialized training in leadership and sales. I have the ability to adjust to a changing environment, manage & shift priorities, and work under deadlines all with a strong attention to detail. As a director with Onelife Fitness, I was tasked with recruiting, hiring, and managing fitness staff. I have found time management and organization to be key elements in the completion of heavy workloads in the positions I have held. The director position gave me the ability to create revenue projections for training programs and manage expenses. It has also given me the opportunity excel in leadership activities such as effectively motivating subordinates to exert the effort necessary to attain organizational goals. In my years of work in a managerial position I have found that many situations, no matter how intense, are circumstances that can contribute to growth. Every interaction is a chance to show empathy, strengthen morale, or turn a complaint into an opportunity. I have learned to make positive use of stress to improve performance and project composure even in turbulent times. In both my current and prior positions, I have had the responsibility of being self-sucient. I assist the public in achieving their goals by exhibiting enthusiasm for their personal growth. Both of these are crucial components for my training and experience that I use while modeling dynamic leadership and integrity. In my current position as a coordinator, I act as a point of contact between members, trainers, and the board of directors. My position requires that I work odd hours due to availability and differing needs of each client. I am tasked with the organization and implantation of over 40 fitness programs. This requires effectively controlling cost through economical utilization of personnel, materials and equipment. This also requires constantly examining administrative effectiveness in order to seek better procedure with creative strategy. I am always looking to build upon my professional development and discuss opportunities that would further my career.
