About Alexa Abadee

I currently hold a position as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist with Los Angeles Unified School District, servicing students in the West and South regions. I work with secondary students (middle school through adult transition) from a wide array of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds primarily in the areas of AAC, fluency, language, and articulation. I have experience with students on both the general education and alternate curriculums, those on general education campus sites, and students who attend a special education center or CTC (career and transition) program. My educational, professional, and clinical experiences thus far have contributed to my broader understanding of the assessment and treatment of communication disorders, disability rights, education law, social justice, intersectionality, medical sociology, counseling, family-professional partnerships, community based instruction, bilingualism, and interprofessional/interdisciplinary relationships. I strive to be a culturally responsive clinician who continually applies these areas of knowledge toward my clinical endeavors as a lifelong learner.
