About Alexa Call

I am a passionate therapist-in-training with a Master’s in Social Work from Brigham Young University (expected April 2025) and hands-on experience providing trauma-informed care to individuals facing diverse mental health challenges. Throughout my journey, I’ve been driven by a deep commitment to fostering healing and resilience. My internships at BYU Counseling and Psychological Services and the Utah State Hospital have allowed me to hone my skills in evidence-based practices, including crisis intervention, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). At The Refuge, I supported survivors of sexual assault with empathy and professionalism, ensuring they felt heard, supported, and empowered. I believe in the power of connection as a cornerstone of well-being, which is why I also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community resources to create holistic treatment plans tailored to each client. My academic background in psychology, research on human connection, and presentations on ethical decision-making in social work have further equipped me to understand and address complex trauma. My mission is simple: to provide a safe space where survivors can reclaim their strength and build a brighter future.
