About Alexa Starry

I am a dedicated information professional with a strong background in literary programming, library services, and customer service. I hold a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science (Spring 2023) and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Publishing Track and a minor in Communication Studies (Spring 2018), both from the University of Iowa. During my undergraduate studies, I played a key role in launching the inaugural Iowa Chapbook Prize series, where I was responsible for manuscript selection and editing, book design, and author communications. My own poetry was also published in the Spring 2018 edition of Fools, a student-run magazine. Since 2016, I have been part of The TUESDAY Agency, an independent lecture agency based in Iowa City. Starting as an intern, I developed expertise in editing, marketing, outreach, and social media management. I now serve as a Senior Agent, collaborating with authors, publishers, non-profits, universities, and libraries to curate and coordinate literary programming. Additionally, from 2023 to 2025, I worked as a Library Assistant at the North Liberty Library, gaining hands-on experience in public library services.
