About Alexa Tomaszewski

Alexa Tomaszewski is a Toronto-based freelance writer, stylist and yoga instructor. Teaching out of Yoga Tree Studios she is able to do the work she truly loves. Communication through speak and with the body is one of the things she does best. Reading and writing at a very young age sparked her interest in the creative and for three years she’s done the work she loves, writing and editing on various subjects. Published in Homemakers Magazine, on Comic Book Resources.com, Convergence Magazine and on various other websites and online magazines including Plaid Magazine and Noctis Magazine, her writing is both exciting and on point. Alexa writes mainly feature articles concentrating mostly on art, fashion and culture. She is an experienced interviewer and always begins at the source. With a love for music and comic books some of her favorite interviews are with musicians and writers. As a cinephile and sometimes movie snob, she loves to review film and television series that spark popular interest. Finally, as the resident writer at 50mmphotography.ca, Alexa speaks out against the fashion and photography industry for creating unattainable standards for women and ultimately normalizing these standards. She is an advocate for women’s rights, gay rights and human rights all together. A peaceful person at heart, Alexa loves yoga, being outdoors and spending time with her friends and her dog. Each summer she volunteers backstage at Boots and Hearts, a country music festival, out of a great love for music. Last years event brought her face-to-face with Gord Downey of the Tragically Hip, Kid Rock, Tim McGraw and Trish Stratus of Stratusphere yoga and WWE wrestling. You can often find her at concerts, shopping on Queen West or in Kensigton market, or traveling the world. Most importantly, Alexa one day hopes to write a great Canadian novel in the vein of Margaret Atwood or a horrifying, nail biting, all-nighter of a read in the vein of another favorite author, Stephen King.
