No. 0882690 HPCSA No. PS0102652 Operating from Stellenbosch, in the heart of the historic Cape Winelands, I am an experienced clinical psychologist qualified to diagnose and treat a host of mental health conditions. Passionate about working with adolescents, adults, couples and families; services range from managing day-to-day life stresses to treating severe mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. My focus is on working with clients in a way that best suits their unique needs. I am dedicated to providing client-centered interventions within a warm and tranquil setting. I follow an integrated approach with a developmental perspective. I work on the cognitive, affective, behavioral and physiological levels in terms of determining whether the objective of the therapeutic relationship is in terms of altering irrational thought patterns and beliefs, working with emotions to gain a deeper understanding and insight about what motivates behavior, changing undesirable behaviors or body awareness. The client's preference determines whether a directive or non-directive therapeutic modality is used. Directive psychotherapy modalities used in my practice include Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapies (DBT). Non-directive therapeutic modalities used in my practice include Heinz Kohut's Self Psychology, Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology and Irvin Yalom's Existential Psychotherapy. My orientation to couple's counseling includes an integrative approach combining Emotion-Focused Therapy with Solution-Focused Therapy to facilitate deepening emotional intimacy and communication.
