About Alexander Babinski
I love working at the intersection of medicine and engineering. I have truly enjoyed my academic experiences in biomedical engineering because I've had access to many real world design projects. These have allowed me to work with a number of surgeons and researchers at UW hospital. Within biomedical engineering, I have two main interests: neuroengineering and global health. My undergraduate experiences in engineering and neuroscience, as well as my master's coursework in neuroengineering, have given me a strong appreciation for the multidisciplinary nature of studying the nervous system, and have greatly increased my fascination with the brain. I look forward to working in this rapidly developing field. I've also been on two medical mission trips; I served as a pharmacist at a traveling clinic in Honduras and volunteered with Floating Doctors in Bocas del Toro, Panama. I really enjoyed serving these communities and these trips sparked my interest in engineering's role in global health.
