About Alexander Beattie

I'm a mechanical engineering student at Tufts University with a strong foundation in collaborative design, hands-on prototyping, and engineering education. I’m most engaged when I’m working closely with others to turn ideas into real, functional systems-whether that means designing a mechanical solution, supporting a teammate through a tough technical challenge, or helping a student gain confidence in the makerspace. My academic and extracurricular work lives at the intersection of building and teaching. I’ve served as a teaching assistant, mentor, and teaching fellow, and I care deeply about making technical spaces more approachable and engaging-especially for those just getting started. That drive to demystify engineering informs how I work on teams, how I solve problems, and how I keep growing as a designer. I’m especially interested in roles where I can contribute both technically and interpersonally-where creative thinking, curiosity, and collaboration are valued alongside engineering skill. Whether in product development, education, or early-stage design, I bring a mindset rooted in iteration, learning, and building with purpose.
