About Alexander Bruce

I am an Association of Proposals Management Professionals (APMP) member. I have 10 years experience in tendering within the energy sector, serving both small and large scale international clients in the oil and gas, power generation and marine/renewables industries. My primary responsibility as a Technical Sales Engineer is to manage tenders from receipt and throughout the entire sales process acting as the focal point for both internal and external stakeholders. The requirements of the roles I have worked in has been varied and consequently I have gained a well-rounded knowledge and a high level of competency in building, writing and managing the compilation and submittal of tenders. I have been responsible for building the technical tender response including tasks such as creating 3D design models and P & IDs, engineering calculations, technical scoping, writing methodologies and developing project execution schedules. My roles from a commercial perspective have all involved identifying the best strategy specific to the opportunity at hand and building a holistic P&L cost model that provides the business assurance that all costs have been captured and risks have been identified and mitigated as much as practicably possible. Reviewing payment and contract terms and conditions, as well as supporting the contract negotiation process has also formed part of my roles in the past. Coordinating and adopting a collaborative approach with the support that is occasionally required from other business functions such as specialised engineering teams, Aftermarket, Accounting, Contracts, Procurement, HSE and HR also plays a part in being successful in my role. I have a proven track record of successfully meeting/exceeding my KPI targets of tenders submitted/won conversion rate.
