About Alexander Casburn

I am a highly motivated and results-driven Procurement Manager for Vanguard Renewables. Since my graduation from the University of Maine with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I have been a part of several projects in the construction industry ranging from petrochemical modular manufacturing, liquid natural gas plant liquefaction upgrades, solar farm installation, and industrial dryer exhaust system implementation. Throughout these projects, I have gained experience in all stages of a project, from startup to completion, including turnover to the client. I have a growing understanding of construction means and methods, operations, production, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering processes, health, safety, environmental, and industry standards/guidelines. Outside of work, I enjoy hunting, fishing, riding my motorcycle and spending time with friends and family. I aspire to obtain my Professional Engineering (PE) license and I'm well on my way to achieving this goal by having the NCEES Engineer In Training (EIT) status. I have (3) years of field and project engineering experience professionally. My experiences include- Supporting the project management team - Material, equipment, and subcontractor procurement - Verification of field production targets and work in place against the project plan - Support production tracking process, assist in analysis & recovery planning - Lead equipment & tool tracking process - Support Project Manager with the development and distribution of work packages - Support Project Manager in change management process - Document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)- Developing and applying ways and methods to improve production utilizing LEAN - Assisting field crews with interpretation of drawings, surveying data, solving problems, and installing materials - Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks
