Background
About Alexander Christopher
I am a graduate of George Mason University with a Master’s degree in Public Administration. My undergraduate degree is from James Madison University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in Criminal Justice. I am also a full-time employee at Fairfax County Circuit Court where I currently work as a Courtroom Clerk. In this position I work directly with the fifteen Judges appointed to the Circuit Court Bench; providing assistance in the courtroom, composing legal paperwork, administering oaths, and maintaining evidence as well as other highly sensitive and confidential material. Moreover, I have been able to provide great customer service to various agencies, attorneys, and the public while in a close team atmosphere, working to achieve group projects and performance goals. Prior to my current position, I acted as a Supervisor in the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. This fast-paced, high-volume, position required strong multitasking skills when handling time-sensitive and confidential materials such as: summons, petitions, motions, and orders. In addition to this, I interacted closely with eight full-time Judges, county police, attorneys, and the general public to assist in and explain judicial procedures in order to ensure a helpful experience with the courts. As a Supervisor, I managed and trained a staff of seven employees who completed assignments in a timely and effective manner. High productivity and great attention to detail was always expected. Furthermore, I previously worked as a research assistant; developing experimental projects, collecting data, analyzing it, and summarizing it into cohesive reports. At this position I worked with both faculty and fellow students to compile scientific and useful information. These positions have required me to use effective communication, organizational, and managerial skills on a daily basis. Additionally, I have completed extensive coursework that has allowed me to develop efficient critical thinking, problem-solving, analytic, and leadership skills.
