About Alexander Corbeil

I am a trust and safety professional with extensive experience across multiple sectors, including technology, government, and academia. At TikTok, I work on policy development and implementation as well user education initiatives, with a specific focus on addressing violent extremism, hate speech, criminal activity, shocking and graphic content, and misinformation. Before starting at TikTok, I worked to combat terrorist use of the internet as a member of the Government of Canada. This involved shaping upcoming regulations for social media platforms, overseeing funding to Tech Against Terrorism, and representing Public Safety Canada in significant collaborative efforts like the Christchurch Call to Action and the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT). I have had the privilege of lecturing on terrorism and intelligence practices at Carleton University's Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. In this capacity, I mentored graduate students completing their Master's and Doctoral degrees.
