I find that more and more companies are moving toward automations & are intentionally or unintentionally automating their staff along with it. I see company men and women leaving jobs that they have loved for years because of the toxic changing culture. It's heartbreaking to see. A positive company culture starts from the top, down. It starts by putting your team above yourself. It doesn't take much to do that but it seems to be in short supply these days. I seem to surprise my colleagues because I answer my phone when I am not working. I come in early, stay late, cover shifts - I am on the floor constantly developing my staff, answering questions, and working with customers. As with all leadership positions, I spend some time in the office but I do not hide there while my employees are in need of help. I believe it is our job as leaders to surround ourselves with people who have the potential to surpass us and develop them in to leaders who do just that. Leaders teach, mentor, train - Leaders partner with executives above and below them to provide the best support for themselves and their team.
