I am an experienced risk manager specializing in pro-actively guiding organizations through periods of substantial change. Over 20 years on both the buy and sell sides, I have learned that organizations that run towards problems are the ones that emerge from challenges in the strongest position. Even change that is initially imposed from outside or that appears threatening can be a catalyst to make an organization better.I am currently the Chief Risk Officer at RP Investment Advisors, a $15bn fixed income asset manager. The firm is growing extremely quickly, adding institutional clients to its existing suite of high net worth focused long/short hedge fund strategies. Since joining, I have transformed the risk infrastructure into one befitting a large asset manager and have made risk management a crucial component of the value proposition RP offers to clients. Earlier in my career, I built a reputation for staying on the cutting edge of the markets in which I was involved. By the end of it, I was guiding multi-billion dollar businesses through the wrenching changes buffeting the banking industry in the wake of the financial crisis. We brought antiquated business lines into the modern age, we made the bank and the economy safer by optimizing how risk was distributed through the system and we used technology to create advantages where others saw threats.
