About Alexander Grantz

I graduated Magna cum Laude from Miami University in 2008 with a major in Technical and Scientific Communication with subject concentrations in Computer and Environmental Science. My education honed my writing skills, provided key insight into technology used in the corporate world, and sharpened my problem solving ability. It made me an expert at writing instructions, teaching technical material, and analyzing documents and software for accuracy and correctness. In the following years, I continued my education earning TMap Foundation, ISTQB, and Certified Software Tester (CSTE) certifications. I began my career as a consultant with Sogeti in June of 2008. I worked at GE, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, and Luxottica as a consultant. At Luxottica I tested several products, became an expert with their POS systems, wrote test scripts, executed tests, and documented and managed defects. I also coordinated several production projects that updated almost store computers and network connections. I moved to UniRush in 2013 where I led automation test efforts and continued manually testing. At Unlimited Systems, I was the lead tester of an oncology pharmacy solution using a combination of manual and automated tests. In my main project at Pacific Metrics / ACT, I built the automation testing framework from scratch using Java and Selenium. I also served as an automation test lead who oversaw automation on several scrum teams and took on separate automation projects. I then managed the QA team at AbsenceSoft, taking the company to a much higher level of maturity in QA and release management while writing a new automated test framework with C# in.NET Core. I also excel at training, presenting demos, creating documentation, and mentoring others. After working for a year at TQL as a Senior Software QA Engineer, I was promoted to a QA Supervisor position to lead, mentor, and direct a team of talented QA professionals. Testing is a natural fit for me, but I purposefully have kept a broad range of skills that can serve me in many different disciplines. I can be a software tester, automation engineer, QA manager, technical writer, business analyst, and more.
