About Alexander Herd

I started the Herd Law Office in 2024 with one goal in mind: to help people build, grow and protect their businesses and non-profit organizations. To accomplish this, I help clients break through the intricacies of legal issues while providing affordable solutions that are easy to understand. In simplifying complex areas of the law, clients can become empowered to make independent and effective decisions. More than just advising on the law, my goal is to become a long-term strategic partner, helping business owners achieve their goals. Access to affordable and straightforward guidance should not be a luxury. I strive to deliver personalized services efficiently to meet all budgets. I believe that a client-focused approach will add value to my clients' organizations whether they are just getting your business up and running or need help safeguarding their operations through policy creation or dispute resolution. Prior to creating the Herd Law Office, I worked exclusively for boutique law firms that shared the same goal of providing cost-effective services to small and mid-sized businesses and non-profits through a hands-on approach where the clients’ goals always came first. I have been published on a number of relevant topics such as why ethical practices are good for businesses and how clients can benefit from using outside general counsel services. I have also taught multiple Continuing Legal Education classes, on the topics such as petitioning the New York State Attorney General’s Office, structuring an outside general counsel practice and ethical considerations for promoting legal services through social media. Outside of legal work, I enjoy spending his time managing fantasy baseball teams, playing board games, vacationing with his wife, Carolyn, and being a cat-dad to their strange orange cat, Winnie.
