About Alexander Janack

As an established civil servant with direct experience in the legislative process along with a Master of Arts in Political Science, which focuses on Public Policy and Canadian institutions, I am looking to pursue a career within the Ontario Public Service. More specifically, reflecting my education and experience, I want to pursue a career as a policy analyst. I feel such a career would be a perfect fit for someone with my unique skills, interests, and professional expertise. In addition to my academic experience my current job as a constituency assistant has exposed me to various practical aspects of the legislative process and administration, along with related research and leadership execution successes. I have successfully provided strong support and guidance to MPP’s by means of implementing efficient and innovative administrative and research solutions that have gone on to influence the members private members bills, statements, and committee reports. A most recent example being my work on a report commissioned by my member on the economic toll COVID-19 has had on Ontario’s Tourism and Sports sectors (which is my members portfolio) to present to a committee formed to discuss this topic by the MHSTC. In this report I conducted research on the overall economic toll COVID-19 has had on these sectors by consulting stakeholders, government, and non-governmental public information, and made policy recommendations that could assist the ailing sectors. In addition, I worked to ensure that each of my offices daily operational aspects were conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner by assisting constituents with navigating Ontario’s complex bureaucracy.
