About Alexander Mamonov

I am an incoming third-year student at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, pursuing a degree in Biology, Health, and Society on a pre-medical track with the clear goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Motivated by the prospect of lifelong learning and equipped with skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and teamwork, I am actively engaging in research and various student organizations as part of my undergraduate education, preparing for medical school. Currently, I am involved in a research endeavors with esteemed faculty at Michigan Medicine, shadowing various physicians within the Michigan Medicine network, acclimating myself to a variety of student organizations while pursuing leadership roles within them, volunteering my time to assist local people in need within my college community, and challenging myself with rigorous coursework in a multitude of academic disciplines. My commitment to making the world a better place is reflected in my emphasis on helping each individual and providing them with the care they deserve, especially in the realm of quality of life care. This motivation aligns directly with my goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon, which I hope will serve as a vessel for my desired impact one day. Until then, I aim to participate in activities that are in line with my goals. This includes, but is not limited to, gaining clinical hours, exploring research opportunities, and shadowing in clinical or operating room settings.
