About Alexander Slaughter

As a 2021 graduate from the Illustrious Howard University, I have seen now more than ever, the necessity to continue to push towards my passion for practicing medicine. I plan to attend medical school after completing my undergraduate education in hopes to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and start my own practice in an underserved community. I have always been passionate about helping individuals who do not have access to resources in order to receive proper care as many of my friends and family members were victims of these circumstances. Above my future career in practicing medicine, I am passionate about furthering my role in healthcare policy and advocacy against interpersonal violence in settings such as college campuses. I one day plan to make great strides in how we approach to medicine in minority communities, combat healthcare inequalities as well as Title IX Policies.
