This position also requires knowledge of soil types for excavation purposes; as well as being able to identify contaminated soil. Finish work includes concrete work and paving. HVAC Apprentice M&E Mechanical Contractors - Springfield, MA - 2010 to 2012 While working for M&E Mechanical I gained experience in many aspects of HVAC. While working in the shop I learned how to fabricate HVAC duct using sheet metal. Duct fabrication was done be using a wide verity of machines; such as hydraulic breaks, presses, sheers, and laser cutting tools. The majority of my HVAC experience is being out in the field. As an apprentice I've gained the knowledge to install HVAC duct, from simple repairs to ground-up commercial projects. I have learned the proper and safe way to use tools ranging from basic hand and power tools, to scissor lifts and boom lifts.
