With 26 years of experience in warehouse and distribution management, I have built a solid foundation in logistics, team leadership, and operational optimization. Starting as an operative and progressing to First Line Manager, I have developed expertise across all areas of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, goods-in, dispatch, and stock management. My service in the Royal Marine Commandos further refined my leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure. Currently, as a First Line Manager at Pets at Home, I lead teams of 5 to 30 colleagues in both retail and e-commerce operations. I focus on enhancing productivity, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. I collaborate closely with Transport, Stock Control, and Shunter teams to ensure smooth workflows and successful task completion, including trailer loading, live container priorities, and backhauls. At DHL / NUMS (National Uniform Systems), I oversaw the distribution of police uniforms to several districts, managing six key departments: Goods-In, Picking, Packing, Dispatch, Damages & Returns, and Put Away. I led stock management processes using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and implemented eco-friendly practices, such as recycling Kevlar materials and using sustainable packaging. A significant achievement was managing the rollout of a new baton design for the Metropolitan Police, ensuring quality checks and timely distribution. In my previous role at Uniserve / G-Tech, I coordinated stock unloading, order fulfilment, and dispatch for a company specializing in lithium battery-powered products. I oversaw the safe and accurate movement of stock, supervised teams, and ensured compliance with health and safety regulations.
