Background
About Alexander Trudeau
I’m proud of the work I do in the pharmaceutical sector. Each day, I have the opportunity to make a direct, positive impact on patients’ lives around the world. As a leader in external manufacturing, I manage critical operations—including project management, technical transfer, commercialization, and long-term planning—to ensure sufficient supply of life-saving drugs for people who need them most. This work means everything to me. Each time I commit to a program or project, my colleagues can rest easy knowing that I will execute on our goals. When I encounter a novel challenge, I turn myself into the subject matter expert who can solve the problem, course-correct our plan, and deliver a successful outcome. Career At-a-Glance: Through 16+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, I developed special expertise in small molecule and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) manufacturing across both commercial and clinical programs, with a recent focus on external manufacturing operations. During my tenure at Biogen, AbbVie, and ImmunoGen, I managed and collaborated with the CMO and CDMO partners who manufactured the drug substances and drug products our patients need, as well as a wide range of external vendors. As such, I am an expert at building and maintaining strong working relationships and rapport. I played a critical role in developing large-scale production of Elahere, a groundbreaking medication for the treatment of FRα+ ovarian cancer. We rapidly scaled production to meet sky-high demand, enabling this launch to become one of our most successful ADC launches. Over the course of my career, I gained hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of pharmaceutical manufacturing, including Lean best practices to promote workplace and patient safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, risk management, financial stewardship, and the long-term stability, scalability, and continuity of our operations. As a chemist and project manager at Johnson Matthey, I mastered the essential organic synthesis processes that form the foundation of bulk manufacturing operations, including cGMP compliance. More importantly, I learned how to think as a leader for the first time.
