About Alexander Wong

Hi there, Throughout my career, I have worked in many different industries and roles. They primarily have been related to customer service in some way, and I have held been both a representative as well as in management roles for such, with experience with both public and governmental entities. I made the move to Japan in 2019 to seek a new part of my life and expose myself to environments I would not be able to experience otherwise. Now, I am looking to transition into the career path I am putting my full focus in settling down in, software engineering. Starting off, I self-studied through web resources such as Free Code Camp and The Odin Project. Through these resources, I studied primarily frontend development, with the focus of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with working with React. When I obtained the chance to, I decided to commit myself further to broaden my capabilities through full-stack web development with the internationally-recognised bootcamp Le Wagon in the Tokyo branch. Through the bootcamp, I have been able to learn skills such as: proper code styling, API interaction, live app deployment, and most importantly, team collaboration through tools such as GitHub. Additionally, I have been able to make better my tech stack to further refine what I have used earlier (HTML, CSS, and JS), to having a high focus on Ruby on SQL, as well as through the frameworks Ruby on Rails, Stimulus, and Bootstrap. I am not limited to these skills, and I am forever wanting to expand my skillset. In my own time, and through projects, I am ever pushing the boundaries of what I am capable of.
