About Alexandra Brown

With extensive experience of providing strong leadership and acting decisively in the fields of business development and sustainable growth, charity and financial control. I am a passionate and driven professional who strives to make a positive impact on the lives of others living in care. My core competencies include strategic organisational design and development, building networks and stakeholder engagement, income generation, financial management, employee management/mentoring, resident and family engagement, and project management. As the Director of Care at RBLI, a social enterprise that supports veterans and people with disabilities, I have first hand experience of the social care landscape regulations and standards of CQC specialising in residential and domiciliary care and the complexities and challenges these present. I am committed to championing RBLI's vision and its values and culture to deliver high-quality care to our residents, supporting our amazing workforce, and ensuring regulatory and commercial viability. I am an Exec Director and regularly sit on and report to the Trustee board. In my current role, I am a budget holder of >£7m, overseeing 3 CQC regulated services and the challenges of commissioning of local authority and NHS funding. This needs personal resilience and a strategic mindset but I always action with an empathetic and inclusive management style as care is hard. I am a trained Mental Health First Aider. My PRINCE2 7 certification and expertise in managing successful projects has enabled me to implement successful strategic change management and cross operational working across a range of CQC regulated services, including supported living, nursing and dementia care. I consistently achieve results even under tough circumstances. I am used to managing ambiguity & conflict well and have helped modernise the reporting processes (including designing new important commercial and compliance dashboards) for board reporting. Personally I have a 20 year old special needs son so have a driving passion for all children to be able to achieve the best possible outcomes to lead their best life. I volunteer with girl guiding (for the past 9 years) as I believe it is a wonderful opportunity to give back and be able to empower the youth of today to grow to their full potential.
