About Alexandra Dixon

I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Pre-Medicine Emphasis through the Honors College at GCU, with the goal of applying to medical school following completion of my degree. I graduated summa cum laude from Foothills Community Christian School in 2022. I currently serve as the president of GCU Az HOSA, a club dedicated to helping pre-medicine students expand their curricula vitae and applications for graduate school with various volunteering, shadowing, and research opportunities. I also do research with GCU’s Drug Discovery Group under Dr. Richard Connors, and work as an undergraduate teaching assistant for Anatomy & Physiology.I have worked at Benefis Health System for four years, and am currently employed as a lab assistant (phlebotomist). I was formerly a front desk screening station assistant and an equipment technician in the emergency department. Prior to this, I worked at Thriven Functional Medicine for a year. I have many volunteer experiences inside the healthcare system and throughout the community, and am currently an ambassador for NMDP) in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve also worked extensively with Blood Cancer United (formerly known as Be The Match) at their Light the Night Greater Phoenix campaign for three years and counting.
