About Alexandra Eaves

With over seven years’ experience in emergency response and recovery interventions, project management, volunteer engagement and training delivery in the humanitarian sector, I have specialised in working with community members and stakeholders in order to deliver programs using localisation methodologies. I have delivered a number of community recovery programs in the aftermath of an emergency or disaster event, while also developing and facilitating training sessions and mentoring staff and volunteers. I have led large teams in disaster response for remote communities, in both Australia and internationally, including those that are linguistically and culturally diverse. I strive to consult community members, working in a place-based and culturally sensitive way, in order to deliver programs and products that address community need, while empowering and employing local people.
