About Alexandra Evans

As a DONA International-certified birth and postpartum doula and ICEA-trained childbirth educator, I am deeply committed to empowering women and birthing people to make informed, embodied choices during the perinatal period. My work centers on providing holistic, trauma-informed care that honors the mind-body connection during one of life’s most transformative stages. I recently earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and will soon be on the path to becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) specializing in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). I believe therapy should be individualized—not driven by diagnosis, but by the client’s unique story, values, and goals. I aim to integrate evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic theory in a flexible, culturally competent, client-centered way. To further support this journey, I am pursuing the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. My professional goal is to bridge birthwork and mental health care to provide deeply attuned, culturally responsive support for new and expectant parents. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I returned to northern California after earning my undergraduate degree from Boston University and living in Los Angeles for several years. I will soon be seeking Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) roles to begin accruing hours toward licensure under the California BBS.
