About Alexandra Lysova
I am a Criminology Professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (Canada) and my research interests focus on intimate partner violence, female aggression and male victimization, cross-cultural studies of violent crime, and homicide in Russia and other countries. I've received my Doctor of Sciences degree in Sociology from the Russian Academy of Sciences and my PhD in Criminology from the University of Toronto. My recent publications appear in the Handbook of European Homicide Research, Theoretical Criminology, Aggressive Behavior, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and the Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs. I have received awards, scholarships and fellowships from the Trudeau Foundation (Canada), Fulbright Foundation (USA), Carnegie Foundation (USA), Humboldt Foundation (Germany), and President Research grants in Russia. At Simon Fraser University, I teach courses "Special Topics of Crime: Violence and Aggression","Criminological Theory", and "Gender and Crime".
