About Alexandra Pearson

Five years ago I moved from NYC to Seattle following an 8 month long trip around the world from March-November 2018. Today I have the honor of working with brilliant storytellers and changemakers at HHMI Tangled Bank Studios. As an Impact Producer, I help develop and execute strategies for how our films can drive science education and conservation. I also support with partnerships, events, communications, and digital engagement. Recent projects include Wild Hope, Treasure of the Caribbean, All That Breathes, Ending HIV in America, and My Garden of a Thousand Bees. Prior to its closure in 2021, I worked as an Impact Producer at Vulcan Productions for nearly two years, where we produced media content that informed, inspired, and activated audiences. I designed cause-marketing strategies and lead impact campaigns around incredible films, TV shows, and XR experiences. Media projects include Ghost Fleet, The Reason I Jump, Oliver Sacks: His Own Life, Hunger Ward, Critical Distance, Youth v Gov, Mothers of Invention, and Reef Rescue. Before joining Vulcan I worked at Picture Motion for 5 years, where I developed creative marketing campaigns for 40 social issue films and media projects aimed at connecting powerful narratives with audiences that would benefit from them the most. I leveraged my knowledge of political communications and media systems, and applied them to original audience engagement initiatives. I'm an active volunteer with the Seattle Audubon Society and participate regularly on citizen science projects. I also volunteer with ACLU WA and mentor emerging storytellers with the Jackson Wild Film Festival. While living in NYC, I was an active member of New York Women in Film & Television and The Forbes Communications Council, and have been published on The Huffington Post and PBS's POV Documentary Blog, as well as lectured and presented at General Assembly, Tribeca Film Festival, and DOC NYC.
