About Alexandra Smiley

With over three years of experience in the wholesale industry, I am a passionate and driven Wholesale Operations Manager at Michael Kors, one of the world's leading fashion brands. I have a strong background in marketing, having completed a Bachelor's degree from the University of Ottawa and a major specialization from Audencia Business School in France. I also hold a TEFL certification and a yoga instructor certification, which reflect my interest in teaching, learning, and wellness. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have lived, studied, and worked in different countries and cultures. In my current role, I oversee all account manager tasks, working with cross-functional teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, I have taken the lead on a project to build an onboarding and training program for all incoming wholesale coordinators and managers; this project includes creating and delivering effective and engaging onboarding materials, as well as lead the training for all new hires within the department. Additionally, I have ongoing projects to update systems and sales reporting processes, partnering with IT and logistics teams to drive continuous improvements to productivity and effectiveness. I have successfully conducted cost analysis, negotiated seasonal pricing, presented and sold new products, and managed in-season inventory for various wholesale accounts, including Winners, Nordstrom, Duty Free, and loyalty accounts. Through these activities, I have demonstrated my skills in employee training, time management, reporting and analysis, as well as my ability to work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and solve problems creatively.
