About Alexandra Squires

I am a trilingual, well-traveled, organized young professional pursuing my passion for Geology within the mining industry. I have a B.Sc. in Geology and Spanish from Acadia University, and lived in northern Spain for a year to complete my degree requirements. Through this experience, I was able to return to northern Spain to complete field work for my M.Sc. Geology focusing on the petrography, oceanography and sedimentology of Ordovician ironstone. This opportunity allowed me to gain confidence in performing geological research in Spanish. An experienced core-logger in sedimentary hosted gold, I also have experience in geo-technical duties including the use of the TerraSpec Halo mineral identifier, and REFLEX IQ-LOGGER. By obtaining my Level 1 XRF Operator License, I have lead a team in the collection of pXRF data on pulps, cut core and full core, and have begun learning how to interpret such data through ioGAS. I also have a basic understanding of both ArcGIS and LeapFrog software. Other skills I have developed throughout my career include; geological mapping, diamond drill line ups, orienteering, data management, QA/QC, MX Deposit, as well as the use of trucks, trailers, and All-Terrain Vehicles I am looking to pursue career development opportunities to further my passion of continued learning while exploring different facets of the mining industry.
