About Alexandra Wright

Entering my 13th year of teaching. I have been Key Stage 3 Lead and Second in Department in a large comprehensive school, devising the curriculum for years 7, 8 and 9 while managing other members of staff in creating schemes of work and resources; training student teachers; teaching classes from year 7 to year 11. Currently a classroom teacher to find a better balance and broaden my experiences: volunteering with the Chichester Fringe Festival (Social Media Team) and Fishbourne Roman Palace. My favourite experience has been teaching Latin GCSE (in a state school, this meant extra curricular and self-funded!) This involved working independently to ensure I understood the curriculum and providing appropriate lessons, resources and support for my student. The role I have enjoyed most has been that of Reading Lead. I loved devising a strategy for my school based on the research I had done and working to put my ideas into practice. I am continuing to develop my skills by achieving qualifications in Proofreading and and copy editing with the College of Media & Publishing and CIEP.
