About Alexandre Beaulieu

I like to solve problems, especially those that are open in nature and thus require contributions of people from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Right now, the manufacturing sector is rich with such challenges, with more than three quarters of the companies wishing to ramp up their digital transformation in the next three years, at least in my area [1]. Yet, lack of competent people always comes in the top reasons for missing out on this opportunity, followed by not being aware of the available solutions and what the associated benefits are. My personal goal is to enable manufacturing industries harness applied science to boost their productivity. I reach toward this goal through championing communication across specialties and promoting efficient, tailor-made, software development and R&D workflows. In my past occupations, I conducted research activities in the aerospace, automotive, biomedical and defence industries, as well as a "brief stint" in fundamental physics where I learned how to analyze serious data sets, and write proper code for doing so. More importantly, I developed and applied all the right tools to communicate the results — and the insights to be gained from them — to a diversity of audiences. All of this is coming together in my current position where I partner with industrial and public sector clients to leverage the latest tools on the market and make sure they reach their goals in custom software development or through successful R&D activities. I like to meet new people, learn about their industries and the specific challenges they are facing, and discover with them if and how science and technology can improve their operations.
