Alexandre Forest œuvre au sein des groupes de Réorganisation, faillite et insolvabilité et de Litige commercial, plus particulièrement en matière de droit immobilier, de la construction et en louage commercial, de Gowling WLG Montréal. Il a été Bâtonnier (président) du Barreau de Montréal en 2019-2020, le plus jeune de l’histoire. Sa pratique consiste à représenter les sociétés en processus de restructuration et leurs créanciers. Il intervient également relativement à plusieurs aspects du litige commercial et civil ainsi qu’en matière immobilière. Alexandre a participé activement à divers dossiers liés aux recours hypothécaires (particulièrement en ce qui a trait aux hypothèques légales de la construction), aux conflits entre locateurs et locataires, aux réclamations du domaine de la construction ainsi qu'à l'élaboration de différents dossiers ayant notamment pour objet les procédures d'urgence (injonction, sauvegarde, etc.) et les vices cachés. Enfin, il a participé à plusieurs dossiers d'envergure internationale, notamment des dossiers concernant la compétence internationale des tribunaux québécois. Il est reconnu autant par The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory que par The Best Lawyers™ in Canada et faisait partie des équipes ayant remporté le "Insolvency & Restructuring Deal of the Year" aux Canadian Law Awards 2022 et Alexandre Forest is a member of Gowling WLG Montreal's Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency Group and Commercial Litigation Group, notably construction and real estate law and commercial leasing. He was Bâtonnier (president) of the Montreal Bar in 2019-2020, the youngest to serve as such. His practice involves representing companies in the process of restructuring as well as their creditors and also focuses on various aspects of commercial and civil litigation and real estate. Alexandre's experience covers a wide range of mortgage remedy matters (particularly regarding construction liens), landlord/tenant disputes, construction claims as well as the elaboration of various emergency procedures (injunction, safeguard order, etc.) and latent defect matters. He has also worked on several international files including various cases pertaining to the international jurisdiction of Québec courts. He has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and The Best Lawyers™ in Canada and was a member of the teams awarded the "Insolvency & Restructuring Deal of the Year" at the 2022 and 2023 Canadian Law Awards.
