About Alexandre Lamarche

It all started with my father’s first-generation iPod touch. I was eight at the time, stuck on one of the last levels of the classic Red Ball game. I thought to myself, there must be a better way to get around the puny three lives the game developers gave me. To be frank, I don’t remember the exact process I went through, but in the end, I figured out how to jailbreak the device.(It was Comex’s famous “JailbreakMe” web-based exploit, for the curious) Mind you, I didn’t really understand what I just did, but I knew that it would allow me to edit a file, which in turn could let me change the number of lives my little red ball had. I ended up editing a JSON somewhere in the game files and finally passed the level, with lives;). I tell this story because it is one of the best examples of my deeply rooted passion for software and computers. That little moment of triumph was not just about beating a game. It was an important moment where curiosity met with determination, and a little bit of luck. I'll always try to bring that same ingenuity and enthusiasm, the one that guided an eight-year-old with an iPod Touch to the complex challenges of today.
