About Alexandre Mortelette

Doctoral researcher at the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights from the University of Luxembourg, my research interests include civil society and its participatory role in public affairs, such as human rights and their political framework. My PhD, supervised by Professor Robert Harmsen, holder of the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, focuses on the role of civil society in the elaboration of human rights standards, taking as an example due diligence initiatives in different European countries, of which one of them is Luxembourg. Always inclined to put into practice the theoretical approaches developed along my academic path and combine them with my various professional activities and voluntary commitments, I seek above all to making an impact on the world, in my own way. Having touched the world of academia, the non-governmental sector and political institutions, it is by adopting inclusive multi-stakeholder approaches that I tend to have this impact.
