About Alexandre Surget

As a researcher at the iBrain unit of the Inserm and Tours University: I dedicate my research to the elucidation of the neurobiological mechanisms underlying stress integration, stress-related disorders and their treatment at a molecular, cellular and systems levels, with an important focus on hippocampus contribution. One of my major works rests on unraveling the functional involvement of hippocampal neurogenesis in antidepressant effects and stress response. I also contributed to identify a molecular signature of depression in a mouse model, strongly conserved in human, using innovative translational approaches and establishing new avenues for drug development.
