About Alexandros Markou

Alexandros Markou is a journalist, member of Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers (member of the European Federation of Journalists). He is working from as journalist in Department International News in ERT3 TV station, of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, based in Thessaloniki, preparing and presenting the international news. From 2018 -2020 he was News Director. From 2020 he is Editor-in-chief in News Department of ERT3. On May 23, 2025, at the 39th Ceremony of Journalism Awards and Honorary Distinctions of the Athanasios V. Botsis Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism, he was awarded with the “Giorgos Karagiannis” Journalism and Technology Award for 2024–2025, sponsored by the European Institute of Communication for:”The utilisation of audiovisual technologies in combination with quality journalism that promotes good neighbourly relations across the Balkans.” He has studied to become an actor at the Institut of Fine Arts in Tirana,Albania and he received the MA degree (Master of Arts) in the field of Quality Journalism and New Technologies at Donau-Universität Krems in November 2015. From 2003 to 2004 he worked in pilot Newscasts of Macedonian Agency of News in Albanian. Also Alexandros is a member of the Albanian Union of Journalist by 1997 and he has been working as correspondent of two Albanian newspapers and two TV Channels. From 1997 to he has worked as presenter of news in Radio and TV in the state of Television of Korca, Albania. Alexandros worked as correspondent in Greece for ’’Gazeta Shqiptare”, ”Shqip”, TV Channel NEWS24.From 2009 until now he works as correspondent of the biggest Albanian TV, Top-Channel,in Thessaloniki.
